Published date:2008-06-10

Hsinchu, Taiwan,

AUO Corporation ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) will participate in Display Taiwan 2008 in Taipei from June 11 to June 13, introducing its latest products and technologies. AUO will unveil several new technologies that will be showcased for the first time in Taiwan, such as in-cell multi-touch panels, 65-inch Full HD portrait LCD for PIDs (Public Information Display), and 52-inch TV panels with built-in third generation AMVA technology.

?

The theme of AUO’s exhibition this year is “Experience the Innovation.” AUO’s goal is to bring more interactive experiences and delightful digital lifestyles to visitors and consumers by leveraging AUO’s technology innovations. The exhibition area is divided into seven sections, including PID applications, advanced technology for large-sized LCD, LCD TV applications, monitor applications, green panel and notebook PC applications, leading mobile technologies and in-cell multi-touch panels. AUO will display several innovative products and technologies, such as in-cell multi-touch panel, the third generation of AMVA technology with high static contrast ratio 5000:1, Full HD line-up LCD TV panels, 16:9 LCD for MoniTV, notebook PC panels with LED backlight, large-sized LCDs for PID and a series of green panels that utilize AUO’s green solutions.

?

PID Section - First to showcase the largest 65-inch Full HD portrait LCD in Taiwan
PID is a major focus for AUO at Display Taiwan 2008. The 65-inch Full HD portrait LCD is demonstrated in Taiwan for the first time. With a portrait backlight mode design, it can reach a high brightness at 700 nits, which is the best choice for PID. AUO will be also showcasing 42-inch PID applications with slim bezel design, which can be pieced up to one 84-inch display with 4 panels.

?

LCD TV Application Section – 52-inch LCD display with built-in third generation of AMVA technology
AUO will exhibit the full range of its 32-inch to 65-inch Full HD LCD TV products family, demonstrating AUO’s leading status in LCD TV products. The newly developed 52-inch LCD TV with built-in third generation of AMVA technology will be launched in Display Taiwan. The contrast ratio is enhanced up to 3500:1. AUO’s full series of 42-inch to 65-inch LCD TV products all feature with 120Hz technology.

?

Green Panel Section
AUO has set up a special area to demonstrate its green panel solutions, with a full range of power-saving features and LED panels. The 46-inch and 32-inch LCD TV panels with improved CCFL can save the power consumption up to 50%. The 20.1 panel with 2 CCFL lamps can also lower power consumption by 40%. AUO will also showcase the full series of notebook PC panels with LED backlights, including 12.1-inch, 14-inch and 15.6-inch. Both 14-inch and 15.6-inch LCDs are with 16:9 wide aspect ratio, which can provide greater digital multi-media functions with slim, power-saving features.

?

In-Cell Multi-Touch Section – First to Showcase in Taiwan
AUO will exhibit 4.3-inch and 8-inch in-cell multi-touch panels. AUO is one of only the few companies in the world that can integrate multi-touch functions into the LCD cell manufacturing process. As there is no need to add external touch glass, AUO’s in-cell multi-touch panels provide better transmittance, better anti-glare performance, and better optical features to retain proper image color saturation and readability under the sunlight.

?

During the exhibition, AUO will be holding technology presentations and on-site games. AUO welcomes everyone to stop by for a visit! If you are not available to visit our booth in person, we invite you to explore AUO’s Display Taiwan 2008 Event Site where you can find more technology and product information.
